Jeremy meza

  • Originally from Orange County, California, Jeremy Meza began climbing in 1996 and was instantly hooked. By age 11, he had saved enough chore money to buy his own gym membership, setting the tone for a lifetime of dedication to the sport. With 28 years of climbing experience and two decades of coaching under his belt, Jeremy has helped youth athletes reach the national stage across all climbing disciplines, making 20 trips to Nationals as a coach.

Jeremy is passionate about the personal growth that comes through climbing—the “aha!” moments, the challenges, and the sense of achievement that mirrors life’s ups and downs. His coaching philosophy centers on building resilience, discipline, and confidence, believing the lessons from climbing carry far beyond the wall.

As a former nationally competitive athlete himself, Jeremy has seen the sport evolve and is proud to have an active role in shaping its future through the next generation. Outside of climbing, he enjoys snowboarding, fishing, water skiing, and working on DIY projects. For Jeremy, it’s the journey—not just the podium—that defines success.

Elite performers don’t eliminate nerves—they harness them. The best climbers aren’t just physically gifted; they excel because of how they think, prepare, and respond when things don’t go perfectly. It’s not about solving the “problem” of pressure or anxiety, but learning to work with it—making it part of the process. What sets top competitors apart isn’t just what they do on the wall, but the mindset they cultivate off it.
